I try to be nice! Why is it so tough to be nice???

if nice comes at the expense of being authentic, we die inside… (& we don’t WANT to die inside, so we say & do things that aren’t “nice” b/c we are fighting for survival)
i hope that i can express what is true for me in a way that also shares my care & compassion for other beings (yes, it’s easier to be compassionate to a cockroach sometimes than it is my partner… I’m not calling it easy) EVEN when I’ve lost my ‘cool’...

Even if I FEEL like being rude, it is not okay to be rude to my partner, no matter how infuriating he might be! Irritations don’t cause our behaviour (we are responsible for that), but they do expose our character. I would like to think that my ‘authentic’ self which is under the layers is of good character!! I hope!
