Practising a song for this Sunday.

Our Christian rock band is performing two “new” songs for us this Sunday and I’m singing the lead for the following song. Tonight I’ve been working on it for the past hour or so and we have our last rehearsal tomorrow night:

I really like the lyrics and I think it’s very inspiring.

Thanks, Cantleygirl.

I just got home from rehearsal, it’s great how music gives us a lift! I really like that Newsboys’ song.

Well,

today flew by for me. With this bad drought here, we work 4/10 hour days so Fridays I am off. I painted 2 rooms in the house today and I am sore in my shoulders and back. It’s Tylenol time and bedtime for me. I will check out this video too. Keep them coming! Goodnight dear.

GREAT SONG!

Great group!! Seen them twice in Ohio and once while I lived in Tulsa. Even got to hang out with them while I was there. Me, being a drummer my whole life, getting to help set up there drummers equipment and hang out with him, was waaaay cool.

Good luck Sunday!!

bp radiate, open lips, keep smiling for me.

That's right

you are a drummer, I had forgotten about that.

You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one . . .

. . . yep, not much I can’t play. Love jazz mostly though.

Very cool. We need you to video tape this and post it. I would like to see you play sometime.

What a great song for you to sing! Very positive and uplifting. Nice video too:)

Thanks, bedhead. :)

We done good, everyone liked our two worship songs. Maybe because of nerves, I messed up a few lines slightly, because the rhythm is different in every verse, but I was able to recover and really “get into” the song. Several people in the congregation were clapping and singing along, so the “crowd” wasn’t too tough, lol. The woman who sang lead for our first song, “Days Of Elijah,” did a superb job!

Bedhead2 June bloom hula hooping!

Yay!!

Sounds like the crowd wouldn’t have even noticed the few lines you ‘improved upon’:) Good job!! Let us know what’s next!

Yes, only a few people besides the band would know. ;)

Thanks for your encouragement, bedhead. We’re working on some Advent songs on Wednesday night.

Do you sing or play instruments, bedhead?

What would we do without music? :)

Bedhead2 June bloom hula hooping!

Well,

I took piano as a kid. I played the flute and the recorder too. I love to ‘sing along’ to songs and I love music too! So I am not without music. :)

If I could sing, really sing I would want to sing Secreto De Amor by Joan Sebastian.
Check it out on youtube. Imagine singing it, it would be sooooooo fun!

Looking back on it, overall, it was really good.

It’s just that in practise, I went through my song without a hitch and during the performance, I messed up slightly on a couple of the lines, sigh, these things happen. Musically, it was a lot of fun and the congregation got into it as well, so that’s what we were trying to accomplish.

How is your Sunday going?

Very inspirational!

You're welcome, Andreya.

I agree that these videos are uplifting. Nice strawberries!

What a joyous

beautiful song of praise! You sing solo? How cool is that???

Always loved that one

I”d love to hear you sing sometime! Does your church put your music on their website (assuming they have one)?

I had to change the link.

The original link on my above post was deleted by youtube, so I had to find another one.

No, our church is not really “up” on electronic media., lol. We don’t have any recordings on our website. I do have some recordings of our music, a bit more of my quartet’s music.
Thanks, AFK. :)

I’d love to hear your band, too! That’s great that you’re really enjoying the music that you’re working on. Like you, I find that the band rehearsals are such a wonderful emotional lift!

They are unless...

The Diva is scheduled (a soprano, of course). She drives me crazy and it takes all of my energy to remain appropriate. But other than that…it totally tanks me up.

AFrayedKnot Seeing the stars...

This is not our band

but it’s Pete’s website. He produces his own solo albums apart from his work with us. He has an “indie/alternative” type sound. Sings songs of his own composition. He’s working on a new album and asked me to sing back-ups for him. If that comes to fruition, I’ll pass a link on to you.
