A not all together comfortable read. Found myself envious for different reasons, perhaps mostly because this is clearly not a victim story but someone who takes life’s challenges while making no excuses. Felt it started out a bit shallow, but in the end it’s touched several of my main concerns. A memoir that will stay with me.

Comments:

don't you want to go find Ketut now?

And go see Bali?

Actually...

... I find Bali less attractive now than before I read the book. Nice smiles and all, but it seems too rigid for my taste. Now Brazil is another story! I wouldn’t mind finding a Brasileiro of my own :-). And Ketut… well, I was more into the ashram part, envying her the spiritual and personal discoveries. You fell mostly for the last part? I realize I’m not so drawn right now to outer journeys, more to the inner ones.
