be a contestant on "The Price is Right"
Been there, had a blast, anxious to go back 2 years ago

We went to L.A. specifically to see Bob before he retired, had tickets for 3 days of tapings. Well missed out day one, when we got there the line was so long, when getting order of arrival tickets, I was number 401 in line, they gave out only 400. Problem solved by ‘urban camping’ the next 2 nights on the sidewalk – met come of the coolest people all there to see Bob. Well, as fate would have it, the trip was my idea and my dream but they called my Mom as a contestant for the third game. I was excited for her, but just a little jaded. Unfortunately, she never made it out of Contestant’s Row but she did get some nice prizes (Contestants not appearing on stage will receive…) delivered a few months later.
The whole experience was SO WORTH IT. After spending so much time in processing with everyone you really are as excited for them as you would be for yourself when they get called, play a game, and hopefully win. I had been anxious to see how Drew did when hee took over, but I think he is doing a fantastic job – I Tivo every episode (as always). I enjoyed the experience so much, and would love to see Drews interaction with the audience during commercials, that I am planning of going back for some more tapings during a week sometime in the spring ‘08 (I live in Atlanta) to see Drew do the show live. I was in Vegas a few moonths ago and there is a Price is right they do there too, at Bally’s. Todd Newton hosts it and does a good job. I, of course, went to that show too, but was not lucky enough to be a contestant. In Vegas they do not interview the audience to pick contestants like in L.A., it is based on quickly and correctly answering a multiple choice price question at your seat-based controller (they randomly choose from all who are fast enough and correct). I replied to this blog as “I want to do this” not “done this” as I have not actually been a contestant, just made it to the audience. My advice to any Price fan is to GET THERE AND DO THIS. It is truly an experience to remember.
