As a staff our school is taking on writer’s workshop, and I will lead the professional development. I’m a first-timer so wish me luck.

Good for you! That will be a great experience! The first time I led a professional development session, I was scared to death! It was good for me, and if made subsequent opportunities much easier! You’ll be great!

I have slowly been moving into a coaching role at my school. I have led PD sessions before, but now I am putting together PD in writer’s workshop for the year. I am realizing how much it is like lesson-planning for teaching kids, except now I will be teaching adults which somehow seems scarier. Luckily, one of the professors from my masters program is coming in for a full day session with the teachers at my school. She is so inspirational! I think it will help to have her as a mentor. Thanks for your encouragement!
