Why I Want To Do This

I’ve always thought it would be sort of neat to come across someone’s old journals in my attic. Maybe a strangers or maybe a relatives, but I’ve always found reading about how someone else experiences life fascinating. It’s so personal. I want to record the important moments in my life (possibly even the smaller things) and someday, hopefully my grandkids/great grandkids will stumble upon them and find reading about the grandma to be pretty neat.

I keep a blog too, so it’s really hard to come up with just the right thing to say. MOre important things should be kept in a journal. More personal and more memorable.

Hopefully I’ll be able to stick with it.

Go for it!

The everyday is neat too. Collect ephemera to stick into the pages. Get glassine envelopes to glue in to hold really small things, like four leaf clovers for example. My grandmother had pressed a few of those in a book. Very cool to find later. For inspiration find a copy of the Griffin and Sabine romance serial by Chronicle books, they are in the used stores by now but incredibly cool.
