escape a life of corporate servitude (read all 4 entries…)
Is this new? 2 years ago

I’m remembering the stories they told me in history class about the poor serfs who worked and worked on farms but never owned anything. If the company I work for does well because of my efforts I don’t see that reflected in my paycheck. I can always bring it up at my annual review and hope for another %5 raise. However if I have my own business and I am working for myself I stand to lose or profit directly based on my work.

Comments:

I believe that rather than climb someone else's corporate ladder...

I’d prefer to set up a ladder of my own and have others climb it.

Well..it’s better than serfdom.

It's not easy

I’ve wanted to have my own ladder for a while, but I’m just starting to try and get that organized and off the ground. It’s hard to know where to start. I know they always tell you that you should do what you enjoy. Right now I want to build some extra, somewhat passive income to support this goal.

nicccee..

building some extra, passive income…is my goal…not to launch another project…although that eventually comes as we get bored, don’t we darling? We constantly need new things to do.

Yea I just have to get it all figured out. I’m selling some things on ebay now, but it’s not really bringing in as much as I would like. :-)

I did that..

I made good money but it was a LOT of work. It was decent extra cash but not worth the time it took me to do it all. Sooooo…income per hour of labor was not worth high enough for me to make the sacrifice…
