Have my dream wedding
UGH!!! what is your dream life, your dream marriage (not wedding), your dream trip or home??!!! Think about that! 2 years ago

My wedding was the most beautiful day that I will ever remember. Just one problem. IT WAS NOT MY DAY!! I dont know how this happened. This day costed about $23,000. My husband made the horrible mistake of taking money from my mother. Not alot, but enough. Little did we know, but the day now belonged to her too. My mother stressed me out to the point that I understood why deposits were nonrefundable… When she did not get her way, she cancelled my bachelorette party that my sister planned at her house. She also threatened to skip the whole circus because I told one of my brides maids that she could wear her afro. The bridal suite was bigger than the average 3 bedroom condo. I could not enjoy any of this. When I woke up, I just wanted to get this over with. The day before the wedding, I just cried and cried. My friend had to drive me around becuase I was so upset. God bless her…
I have yet to look at all of my wedding pictures and video. I know that they are beyond beautiful. Looking on the outside in, everyone LOVED my wedding. But, with everything that I went through, I can always say that I forgive, but I still have a little bit of bitterness. I have a sister and my mother will be mother of the bride, but I can never be a bride again. That day was stolen from me. On top of all of that, my mom had the nerve to confront me a couple of months after the wedding because she did not feel that she got enough of the spot lite at my wedding!!!

If I could sum up the day, I would say wonderful. I married the best man in the world and I that is what I have to remember.

Now, the caveats..
Keep this your day. Do what is best for you and no one else. Once these 24 hours are gone, that it.
*Dont spend too much. Analyze your guest list. My plates costed about $150. The food was wonderful (lobster, steak, etc.)... The problem was that mostly everyone we invited was either just getting a job, or just losing a job, lol. We only got about $3,000 back!! About 70% of our guests did not even give a card. Yeah, I know…it’s time to reevaluate our circle of friends..

Thank God, we are not broke. We have great jobs and a couple of properties between us. But everyone is not so lucky! *WEDD WISELY!

ps: anyone need a wedding dress from a Manhattan boutique?! I ran off the train to get that sucker! Now, it’s in my mom’s basement..
