Im trying to get backstage for Shakira in Atlantic City, any sugguestion?

I’ m not sure as Shakira is quite a big name, it is more difficult to fool people -they’ve seen it many times… altho, what you can do, is try to contact her tour manager (you’ll get the info on her website) and say that you are from a local underground magazine and that you would like to have an small interview with her….
You have to do this well in advance before the gig as they are really busy on tour…

Another way is to get to the venue when they usually do their sound check. but it’s harder if its a big venue…Observe the place well and look out for the “artist entrance” its usually at the back or on the side of the place, she will have to pass by anyway…

Try to be friend with a roadie, the merch people or anyone you see…at after gigs parties, every one is invited!!

Try to do it before the gig; when the show is over all they want to do is wrapping up things and go party somewhere- altho they will say they have to go back to their hotel cuz they leaving early tomorrow- its usually not true. They will throw a party in their hotel/tour bus/ local bar…- And there will be millions of fans wishing to meet her… well if your new friend is the technician, chances are that you could enter easily…

You can also call the reception during the day and ask when she will be there. Just say that you have an interview with her, and you couldn’t remember the time…

Most of all, you have to be full confident. if you look a bit unsure of yourself you can forget it. Doormen knows when your insecure and it will be too bad if you are nervous…

PS: I still think the best way is to contact the tour staff. So then you will be on the guestlist, and everything will be all right. Try to bring a small recorder if you can to do an interview, and the photo camera!!!
