To Accept unconditional love. How do we start?  — 2 years ago

Thank you loupita for inviting me to join as a teamate on this goal. When the email came up I was looking at a short movie a live journal friend had sent me here . Even though I am not Jewish the idea that starting over as in Rosh Hashanah (which begins Monday at sundown) is appropos to my beginning the journey to accepting unconditional love.

I tell you, it almost seems impossible to conceive of love without strings attached. Agape type love.

We should probably think of a game plan for accomplishing this (my very cerebral side says). Or not (from the rest of me I think)

Thanks...

for sharing the video.
I love the idea of being able to start over at Rosh Hashanah.
I think the first step for myself is to accept myself for what I am and to learn that others like me for the person I am and not for any of my achievements.
How about you?

Trust

I have been doing a lot of thinking about this. I woke last night night with the thought that a step toward acceptance of uncondional love is trust. If I can trust at least one other person or at least myself, I can begin to allow myself to be in the vulnerable place from which I can percive love. It also is about control. to accept unconditional love, I must release control (ie “the strings attached”). Maybe unconditional love is a bit like freefall?
