I didn’t expect to make this decision until late NEXT year, but I have just gone for it and applied to study Philosophy part time at Murdoch University next year. I won’t know whether I get a place until late January and I have work to do before then (sending in my Personal Statement and getting a good result on the STAT Test) but wow. I have been reluctant and almost fearful to step this way since I left high school in 97. Now I know that this is the right step for me right now, and I have a deep, personal motivation to succeed, rather than just fulfilling the expectations of friends, family and teachers.
