Read the Bible (read all 5 entries…)
Untitled 2 years ago

I started reading the bible online, but I think as some people said, its not as powerful as when I read it in from the book itself. However, having biblegateway.com as my homepage keeps me on track with reading the bible, so I am switching it up…sometimes online, sometimes from the bible itself. I keep praying for the Holy Spirit to speak to me, but so far I’m not getting anything from the bible passages I’m reading, because it’s all old testament historical stuff…

I’m sure God will speak to me soon though.

Comments:

keep with it

it may be old testament however with out that part there would be no new. some of the most moving things about God are going to be found there

Awesome!

Keep on trucking through-I haven’t read the entire Bible yet but it seems as though every time I ask Him to meet me there He does-He will speak to you in the right way at the right time! I admire you for reading!

Well Done!

Well done on your commitment to reading the Bible ~ the very Words of God Himself. Don’t dismiss “the historical stuff” ~ it makes up about 76% of the Bible! Without a proper understanding of the Old Testament you will not be able to understand the New Testament. God gave us both Testaments, they make a complete whole. Anyone who thinks they understand the New without the Old has a very limited understanding of the New and of the things of God. Again ~ WELL DONE!!
And don’t worry about reading it in book form or electronically ~ its all the Bible, God’s OWN Words to us. Do remember the promise of the Apostle James (1:5), “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” It is quite possible to share the WHOLE Gospel from the Old Testament without any reference to the New!
