drink herbal infusions daily (read all 17 entries…)

The fresh herbs I ordered came in yesterday, so I made some nettle infusion last night, and drank it at work today. Delicious! Almost didn’t strain it, but that would’ve been dumb.

There is also a Mason jar of oatstraw/oattop infusion brewing at home, for me to drink with milk and honey this evening.

Thanks

for all the interesting information and the links with this goal. I am out of cheers for today so I will have to come back to formally cheer this. I don’t know much about western herbalism but all the stuff about cooking plant materials on Susan Weed’s (is that her real name?) site fits with what I understand from Chinese herbal medicine which is all based on cooking/decocting (boiling things in water). Good luck with this goal. Where are you buying your herbs?

Yup that is her real name...

...although I’m pretty sure it’s not her given name. :) She’s quite a cool lady.

I usually buy my herbs mail-order from Mountain Rose Herbs . The quality is extremely high, and they are also really responsible about reducing their waste, supporting sustainable agriculture etc. Here is a link to the page where they talk about all that.

Cool, I’m glad that you’ve found the links interesting/useful so far!

mountain rose seems like a good resource. It is sometimes really helpful in my current studies to look at western herbal info to see where it intersects and or is different from TCM herbs.
