seriously, in the U.S both parties are so catch-all that it won’t totally matter who you vote for in most states. I’d actually suggest it’d be better for you to stay officially as independent, that way the next time there’s a primary/caucus in your area you can choose which party’s one you want to vote in (in that way you can either choose an awesome Democrat candidate to boost them up, or vote for a terrible Republican to push them down. Sneaky, eh?)
