I speak only English fluently. After living in Finland for a year, I speak Finnish almost conversationally; I speak Italian conversationally, and French well enough to survive. But I have yet to become fluent in a foreign language. If I spend next year doing research in Sweden, I’ll have another chance to remedy this.
