Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Danadanadana Using my intuition, and living a life of joy...that's the plan anyway!

Make my new home my own (read all 9 entries…)
I got my bookshelf for Christmas

Yes, the exact one that I wanted – and it looks very swank. Good thing too, cause it was pricey!

It goes perfectly in our livingroom. I am such a genius!

We still don’t have crown molding though. I guess I need to get a job so I can afford crown molding, sigh.

Furnishings?

I am ignorant about crown molding. What is it?

Danadanadana Using my intuition, and living a life of joy...that's the plan anyway!

It's this stuff -

It covers the seam between wall and ceiling, and makes a room look a lot more polished – especially when there’s a color change between wall and ceiling.

By another name.

Thank you! I know what it is, we just call it a cornice. That seems to be wrong.

Danadanadana Using my intuition, and living a life of joy...that's the plan anyway!

Oh, I thought a cornice was this part...

(the extra decorative piece that sometimes goes in corners…) But I don’t really know, I just had a vague notion that that’s what a cornice was :-)

But your way’s probably not wrong – I think a lot of terminology depends which country you’re in.

Especially car parts and tools!

Tools

Accoring to Wikipedia a cornice is a ledge projecting from a wall.

Tools: could you take a guess a what a shifting spanner would be?

Ha ha -

the area of both of those rooms is about twice the size of my entire apartment.

I’d have to get a pretty incredible job to afford that!

But anyway, I’m not really a “frills and lace” kinda girl, so something simple would be fine.

This apartment is never going to be comparable to Versailles no matter what I do to it!

Royalty

Nevertheless, it will be a palace, becauce there’s a princess living in it. Not a “frills and lace” princess, of course, but a princess.

Danadanadana Using my intuition, and living a life of joy...that's the plan anyway!

Hehe...

I prefer “diva”, but princess will do nicely :-)

Now, which closet is my dusty tiara in again..?
