#1 - Goodbye, Chunky Rice
I came across this in my library while looking for Craig Thompson’s “Blankets,” they didn’t have it and I’d heard good things about it so I checked it out.
About eight pages into it, I was about to cry. So I put it down and came back to it later that evening. Wow. What a beautiful story. It’s books like these that I hope will make people realize that the “graphic novel” is in fact an acceptable means of storytelling and is not somehow inferior because it’s a “comic.”
