The conference will be held this year at the Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles, California, October 19 – 23, 2005. The theme is “WRIGHT IN HOLLYWOOD: FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT AND HIS LOS ANGELES PROGENY, 1917-1941”.
We are going to tour the Hollywood area and Frank Lloyd
Wright’s block houses including Ennis-Brown, Storer, and Freeman Lloyd Wright’s houses including his studio-residence and the
Taggart House & Sowden House; the Barnsdall House (Hollyhock)
and Olive Hill in addition to Rudolph Schindlers Kings Road
House.
We will also go to Pasadena to see “La Miniatura”, the first of Wright’s concrete block houses AND will enjoy an evening at what the conference organizers refer to as “an extraordinary Hollywood venue guaranteed to provide the experience of a lifetime”.
1 night is free for dinner on our own so I am trying to figure out a cool place to book (any suggestions welcome). Should be an excellent time.
