Eat at a restaurant alone
and pretend you are somoene you are not...who will know? 10 months ago

Kinda happens when you travel alone, which I tend to do rather often. Most favorite eating alone scene involves a smaller restaurant where I have a table by a window and a glass of red wine to sip while I people watch. I usually carry a book and a piece of paper so I can write down thoughts or read if I get bored.

I don’t know if this happens to guys often but as a girl eating alone I sometimes have guys come up to me and ask if I am alone/invite themselves over to eat with me. It happens when I am staying at the same place/in the same area for a bit and people start to learn that I am obviously alone. It’s and interesting way to meet people.

It depends on what part of town I’m in, but rarely a guy asks if he can share the table. (I’m a guy… heheh)

However sometimes a waitress will sit and chat, if it’s slow enough. If I want conversation, I sit at the bar and chat the bartender.

Good times, though. I love writing at a hotel bar, alone.

Haha bars are wonderful when you are traveling or just in general.

When I lived in NYC I had two bars that I went to all the time. Sometimes I’d go in my PJ’s (they were three blocks away) and drink a glass of wine, or I’d stop on my way home from work just to sit for a minute and rest before going home. I really like going to bars alone.

Hotel bars are especially interesting because you can be sure that most people there are travelers, just like you.
