read more books on cognitive psychology (read all 2 entries…)
Recently read "Musicophilia" and "Your brain on music" 22 months ago

and they were both very good. The first more casual read that feels like reading little story nuggest, the latter more intriguing with arguments and more cog psy. Both were great reads! I want more!

It’s kind of a box of everything once you read them. It really starts to make you wonder what it means to listen to music, and exactly what kind of things are happening in your brain to make you feel the way you do. Although neither of the two books fully =answer the question, they give enough to start questioning your senses. The first chapter of “Your brain on music” that breaks music down, and the last chapter which challenges stephen pinker’s claim that music if “auditory cheesecake” are must reads in my mind. :)
