....and then save it and rewrite parts that don’t stand a short test of time. Visit the piece daily and the parts that ring true keep and shape and build off of. Use or access to a recording device is essential for any melody composition. I started with a Talkboy Taperecorder and my guitar. Now I revisit files on my Mac.
I cannot write a song in a day. (Well I have but it was a stream of conscience song exception) I need to visit most songs multiple times and tweak parts or rewrite certain melodies, etc.
But the most important part is to WRITE IT DOWN or RECORD IT so you can BUILD OFF THE SONG DAILY.
