design my own tattoo
Designed a tattoo once, my friend used it

While I was in the Navy, I was going to get one of my own design done. I was a Seabee stationed in Gulfport, MS for ‘A’ school. While I was there I met someone new. We called him “Roadhouse”, and he was a member of our group taking classes on diesel mechanics.

Well, I passed a lot of time by drawing. One of my drawings was an updated version Seabee logo. I was thinking about getting the tattoo done, but I decided not to get one. Roadhouse, on the other hand, wanted to get the work done on him. I was honored. Not only was one of my renderings going to be with someone for life. So, there was a tattoo parlor less that a mile from the main gate of the base. One weekend, he had my art etched into his arm.

This thing was so cool. The colors literally glowed in the dark. Even after a few weeks, the tattoo was bright as the day it was done. I lost touch with Roadhouse over the years. I wish that I kept the original drawing, but I think I have a picture of the tattoo somewhere. Maybe I’ll find it and post it
later…

A tattoo parlor less than a mile from a military base? Qu’elle surprise!
