www.postcrossing.com – hey this is kind of fun – write postcards to people around the globe and then get some sent back to you – connections are strange and ephermal. The idea about writing what you like on a piece of card and then having this delivered by hand to another person that you don’t know is so cool.
So far I have sent a poem and a collection of quotes – what next…. (probably more poems)

It is fun but I am still waiting for my first card to arrive – I am not sure if you have to send a certain number before you before get one back…
You only have to send one to get one back. But first it has to be received and registered, then someone has to get your name and send to you. It can take about 3-4 weeks before you get your first one. But after that, if you are sending regularly you will receive regularly. I have been a member for 2 months and have officially 14 sent and 11 received. It’s so fun!

My lastest one is a challenge because the dude has requested homemade postcards…
What about going to a photo lab and getting a photo printed out on postcard paper? That would not strictly speaking be homemade but it would be something you created yourself.
Of course, if you’re not really into photography, that won’t work :-)

I just mailed mine on Monday of this week. I am looking forward to getting them though. I have had a penpal in Malaysia since 3rd grade!! I am consistent if nothing else!

I am in the process of writing a postcard to a german dog (a 8 year old Newfoundland) at the moment – love it!
I’m also on the site, and it’s always a surprise to receive a card from another part of the globe!
