free tibet
Wish I could do more. 23 months ago

I love Tibetan Buddhism. Of the different kinds of Buddhism out there, I find it speaks to me in a way Zen and other forms do not.

I had the good fortune of attending a lecture given by the Dalai Lama in October, and I loved it. He is so up beat and positive, and he has been through more painful experiences than many of us can imagine. His people, culture, and homeland have suffered great losses by the Chinese government.

When we say “Free Tibet” and want to fight for their freedom, we should also push for the human rights and freedoms of China’s citizens, and all people oppressed by their governments.

I think the 08 Olympics will greatly benefit the Tibetans and Chinese citizens. China will try to stop it, but this will help bring to light the plight of the Tibetans and the Chinese citizens. China will continue to shift focus onto their huge stadiums and new facilities and away from Tibet, but they will not be able to fully cover up their continued injustice no matter how much they try.

Dalai Lama

I am also drawn to Tibetan Buddhism. I was studying Buddhism for awhile and was confused as to which form i should follow but Tibetan just seems right for me. The Dalai Lama is a wonderful man and I would love to see him speak.
