I try to make a to-do list of things I want to accomplish every day, but I never seem to get too terribly much done. It’s very discouraging. Today, I spent so much time at various doctor’s offices that it’s been hard to get much of anything done so far. However, I’m ever the optimist, it’s only 4:30, and there’s still lots of day left. So here’s what I want to do today (and what I’ve done so far):

Grade TRACE analyses—done!
Grade Issue Proposals
Plan Tuesday’s ENGL 1302 class
Plan Tuesday’s ENGL 2319 class
Finish Beyond Good and Evil—in progress
And (if somehow I get all of this finished at a decent hour)—Grade some Maus essays for the essay contest

Take it Easy!

Could it be that you are hard on yourself? Looks to me like you stack your load pretty high. I believe that no matter what you finish or accomplish, give yourself a cheer and be careful to douse those subliminal thoughts and voices. I have been guilty in the past of doing something great but never really seeing it because of my feelings and thoughts. Incredible how the mind works, isn’t it?

I want to thank you

I’ve thought a lot about what you’ve said here in the last few weeks, and you’re right—I am too hard on myself. I spend too much time concentrating on what I don’t get done instead of thinking about the things I do accomplish, and the result is that I spend too much time stressed out. While I do still wish I managed my time more efficiently, when I think about what I’ve gotten done, I realize that I can accomplish a lot!
So thank you for making me really think about myself.
