but I do have a new pair of sneakers. I’ll give them a chance to get broken in, and then see how my feet feel before I give them their final grade.
I took the back the shoes I had ordered on line (to the local store) and tried on some that they had in stock. They were buy one pair/get one pair half price, so I found two pairs that seemed like they might fit and brought them home. (I was too tired and my feet were hurting too bad to really tell.) When I tried them on at home the next day, one pair was too long and one pair was too tight. So…I went back to the store to return the one pair and get the second pair in a half size smaller. What a mess – this is why I HATE shopping for shoes.
One good thing about it, in all the exchange, I ended up only paying $10 for my new pair. I tried to tell the sales person, more than once, that it wasn’t right, but she had been messing with the return for at least 15 minutes, and didn’t feel inclined to make the register change it’s mind – so who was I to argue. I took my shoes and came home!
I ended up getting the same kind as I had before – New Balance. I tried some other brands but they just didn’t fit well at all. I’ll keep on the lookout when I’m somewhere (Topeka or KC) that might have a better selection.
