So the other day my friend and I made plans to meet up on Tuesday with another friend. Tuesday rolls around and I don’t hear from him until later- by then, I just don’t feel like going out, and I am helping a friend with something, and have lots of work to do. I did call him back and tell him that I wasn’t going to be able to meet up. I did get back to him, but the point was that I didn’t follow through- I had told him I would be there earlier in the week. (Note, he didn’t seem to mind. But it bothered me. Solutions? Get back to person sooner if you’re too busy to do something. Learn to say No when you’re too busy.)
I was sitting in on a Criminal Thinking class today. I lost track of time at my computer and didn’t leave the room til 11:09, and I was supposed to be there at 11:30. It took me several minutes to shovel off my car and then hightailitto the place. I ended up being 6 or so minutes late, which in the grand scheme of things, wasn’t a big deal. The lady running it was 17 minutes late (bad road conditions). But I don’t like to be late for meetings- I feel like I am not respecting/valuing the time of the other person who is waiting. Solution: Make sure to leave early, especially if you don’t know where you’re going, the roads are bad, you need to shovel off car, it’s rush house. Stay aware of the time when you have a meeting.
