The debt-reduction plan my mom has devised for us is really working. We’re making HUGE progress toward getting our debt paid off, and I couldn’t be happier. Between my new job’s salary (about $5000/year more than I was making before) and my mom’s insanity, we may actually make her goal of being debt-free by 2009. In fact, we may be able to pay everything off well before the end of the year. I come home every day and open Microsoft Money and just STARE at the amount of money we have left over after paying all our bills. I’m so glad I decided to get involved in the finances again. I stayed out of it for so long because it stressed me out to see how crappy it was, but in the past six months or so, I think it’s actually been more stressful NOT having a hand in it.
