I finally did it! This is a huge freeing moment for me, as this card was once maxed out at $2,500 3 years ago when I first moved to Boston (rather, it became maxed out while I moved to Boston without having a job!). I remember getting the statement month after month while hoping for someone to hire me just so I wouldn’t have to continue paying the minimum and then using a separate card to buy groceries.

Well, work bonuses and tax refunds have been going towards paying off my debt – at once spread across all my cards, but then I decided I needed to cram down and FOCUS. Well, the final straw was an unexpected bonus at work for being “employee of the quarter”. The bonus helped, but I did have to kick in an extra $100 or so of my regular cash to do it…. but, TA DA.

I can’t wait for my next statement to come and the balance to say ZERO. Oh yeah. Of course there are more credit cards that I need to now focus on paying off, but I know it’s not that difficult to do it now!
