I’m traveling to Beijing for three months this summer to work for the Olympic News Service covering the games. I can’t wait! :)

I just got lucky basically!
I’m finishing up my journalism degree at Mizzou and the Olympic Organizing Committee paired up with the JSchool to send some students abroad to work with the Olympic News Service. It looks like I’ll be in the gymnastics mix zone collecting flash quotes and since I’m graduating I get to stay on for the Paralympics… not sure what I’ll be doing there yet though.
If you’re interested, google BOCOG. They’ve got lots of information about different volunteer opportunities for the Games. I’m not sure about application deadlines or what qualifications they require, but it’s definitely worth checking out if you think you’d like to go! :)

Probably too late for Beijing, but the Vancouver winter olympics are just two years away
I live in Canada, and a lot of the hotels are already sold out for our Olympics in 2010!
