so me and my best friend were mall a couple of weeks ago and (she visited me over winter break!) and we were talking about this lady who was just ignoring her kid, we were being really loud about it but we were talking in portuguese and so it was like, who cares she can’t understand us. but then she actually started yelling at us in portugese. she was definitely hispanic but i would have only thought like spanish speaking hispanic.
so i am like, jesus, this is not a safe language any more. imagine being able to learn a language that doesn’t sound like any other in the world. you could proclaim that you hate someone to their face and you could be like “no i’m saying i think your nice” and then they’d be like “awww.”
