1. JUST LIVING: Finding the strength to wake up knowing this… “It’s very possible that today will be a bad day, but millions more in this world are having a worse day than I can imagine. And even though today will probably not be the best day of my life, it is possible that tomorrow could be. I wouldn’t miss tomorrow for the world!”
2. TRYING TO LOVE: With so many broken hearts and so many shattered pieces of my own heart, the very concept of love is a miracle. Currently in the middle of a divorce I find myself falling in love with my boyfriend. This is a stuggle for me because I don’t want to rush it, I don’t want to make another mistake, I don’t want to get hurt again… and then I think about it… We make mistakes, we get our hearts broke and we survive. How great is it to be able to say, “No, it didn’t work out the way I planned, but OH HOW I LOVED!”
3. POLITE PEOPLE: “Please” and “Thank you” are phrases that practically obsolete. It is so nice to hear someone who has proper manners and is genuinely polite, not just polite because they need to be. If everyone would just lose the attitude and treat people a little better this world would be a better place.
4. FRESH FLOWERS: Flowers in vases on tables, in window sills, on nightstands. Flowers in the bathroom, in the kitching, in the dining room, in the living room, in the bedroom. Flowers brighten everything. I hate floral prints and floral clothes and floral designs, but fresh flowers and potted plants and pretty vases with bows and baby’s breath are fabulous.
5. RAINDROPS: Raindrops on the sidewalk. Sprinkles on the roof. Sliding down the window pane. Beating on the gutter drain. Glistening on the blades of grass. Making music on the whole wide world. Cool on my cheeks. Soft upon my skin. The sweet clean crisp aroma of the storm.
