After what seems like an eternity of procrastination, I have finally decided to join the millions of people around the world in the attempt to lose weight. I’m going to be completely honest with myself by admitting that I’m partly doing this out of vanity, although that’s not my only reason. I’m also trying to achieve this goal:
- to fit into my jeans
- to feel better health-wise
- to feel less self-conscious about myself, although that might fall under vanity
- to finally achieve a goal which has been on my mind for years
My diet and exercise regime isn’t that complicated, since I’ve found that the simpler the routine, the easier it will be to stick to it.
Diet:
- eat breakfast before school (ex: cereal with milk with a bottle of water and an apple)
- eat morning snack (ex: granola bar)
- eat lunch (ex: tuna sandwich with juice box and pudding)
- eat afternoon snack (ex: yoghurt)
- eat supper (ex: 2 egg rolls with mixed veggies and mashed potatoes)
- small dessert (ex: two pineapple slices or small bowl of ice cream)
Although this may seem like a lot to eat on a weight loss plan for some, I’m built big and tall, therefore I need to eat more than the average-sized man. Also if you were to see my old eating habits, you’d see that that’s a big improvement.
As for exercise:
- 30-minute exercise videos in the morning
- walking or stationary biking in the afternoon
- another 30-minute exercise video before bed
I’m trying to lose weight and get in shape according to body fat percentage hence I have no ideal weight target in pounds.
Current body fat percentage: 27% (Borderline overweight)
Goal: 16% (Lean)
This will all come into effect this coming Tuesday, so I’d better enjoy my last days of self-indulgence and overeating!
