Do Not Join the National Guard, or any branch of the military 21 months ago

I’m so glad I did not enlist. My husband joined the Michigan Army National Guard two years ago and was very badly injured during training in New Mexico in March of ‘07. It has been almost a year and the Army has still not authorized the medical care he needs. My husband cannot walk without a cane now, and is in constant pain.

toller6982 is going to try harder

I am assuming a LOD was done.
That would be the first step in getting TRICARE to pay up.

I had a simular situation happen to me.

I can get you some numbers to call.

Hope that helps

LODs & Tricare

Thanks for your reply.

We have had an approved LOD since last summer.

However, all medical authorization must come from the Army. In the meantime, my husband’s injury has become worse and worse and he is now permanently disabled.

It is a real mess and doesn’t show any signs of improving in the near future.

The Army has turned their back on my husband, as have most of our local and state gov’t officials.

It’s just proven to me the the military our grandfathers fought in is not the military of today. Today’s Army considers it’s soldiers expendable commodities.

If you break – they just try to sweep you under the rug.

Sad. And families like mine, soldiers like must husband must suffer for it.
