I used to be such a good eater, but for the last couple months, I’ve not been doing very well. With school stress, moving stress, and whatnot, I went over a month with hardy any exercise and not watching my calories. Well, I’ve started watching my calories again and exercising, but I still don’t have a handle on the calories that I used to have…I used to manage between 1300-1500 cals a day, now I usually end up with 1600-1800+ per day, although some days I’m getting it down. I know, as long as there’s a deficit, I should lose, but it’s not enough. I haven’t lost anything for over two months…yeah, I haven’t gained much either (thank God…just 5 pounds, which I did relose), but I want to continue losing. The first time I put food out of my mind, it took me two weeks of resisting and going to bed hungry to get myself to not be so hungry. It worked, but now it seems I have to do it over again, because I’m always hungry. Well, not ALWAYS, mostly in the evenings. I guess I just gotta buck up and do it, cuz no one is going to do it for me. And I know that these last 50 pounds will be the hardest…God give me strength.

Waynesworld The cold weather has arrived!
I've found...
That I gain weight if I eat after 8pm at night. You mentioned you have food cravings at night. If you can, try to eat a good breakfast and in general, eat more earlier in the day than later on in the day.
As others have mentioned, if your calorie intake is too low, your body’s metabolism rate will slow down because it thinks it is being starved (it is!). The trick is to not eat too much, but be sensible and continue your exercising. It sounds like you’ve been doing the right thing to ensure long-term success, slow but sure is the right approach!
I’m a bit worried that some days, you state your calorie intake is below 1,500 a day. That is so hard on your body. In life, from my experiences, I think one of the most challenging character traits to master is patience. Patience is a virtue, lol and patience on this and your continued good habits will see you through, amazing gal!
