make peace with my curly hair; love it; live with it
No-Poo? 22 months ago

My hairstylist gave me this book to read while I was under the driers getting a deep conditioning treatment.

The authors claim that curly girls and boys have fewer follicles producing natural oil on their scalp, and thus have drier scalp skin and should never, I repeat NEVER use shampoo. They claim that the simple physical action of scrubbing your scalp is enough to clean it, and that sudsy products are bad, bad, bad.

I tried their No-Poo, which is a “conditioning cleanser” without any foaming action, and I have to say my scalp has never felt better. I used to think I had dandruff; my scalp was dry and sometimes flaky. (But no more.)

I’m not committed to the rest of their products, but I have to say I’m liking this no shampoo thing.

Its so interesting how the grass is always greener, especially with hair. I would LOVE to have curly hair. And now knowing that shampooing is a no-no… I want in!! =)

Cool entry. Awesome goal!!

Ain't that the way it goes!

My (adopted) sister is Korean; her hair is exactly the opposite of mine: stick straight, black, smooth, lusterous and shiny… my hair will never be like that. I love my hair too but I lust after that smoothness and shine!

Naturally, in high school she used to get perms to create more volume and texture: to make her hair more like mine.

Saturnsglow Life is a plethora of labyrinthian complexity...yet still so simple.

Make peace with your hair

I agree! You should celebrate your thick, wavy locks.
