...I can start training for it now. I can’t imagine anything better than spending 2 months hiking and carrying all my own gear. It puts me in mind of the pioneers, of Native Americans, of the heroes in Lord of the Rings, makes me want to try out a less technological world, a simpler world.

I want to start by doing weekend hikes and one week trails in Yosemite and Yellowstone, maybe consider the Great Triad of the Appalachian, the John Muir and the Continental Divide Trail.
