be a good friend (read all 4 entries…)
i sent 4 letters... 4 years ago

..a week ago or so.

They should be arriving to people now.
And as a famous 43 penguin said letters = love :)

Also, I think I’m getting better at responding to people in general. Unfortunately, someone I was getting to know, someone that could have qualified as person I call anytime in cairo has recently bailed out on me completely and hasn’t been in touch for 3 weeks. Oh well, I let go – set you free.

Comments:

I hope that this person is not in trouble

Aside from losing your trust. Sometimes our friends fail us because of things which overwhelm them.

May God have pity on the person. And I’m sorry that this had to happen to your friendship!

i'm sorry too..

...but you never know. Things usually turn out for the best. :)

I don’t know what is going on with him, but I don’t think he is in any trouble. He has friends he can talk to, and people he can meet. He’ll be all right.

Thank you for responding! :)

be a good friend

This is what a good friend would do.Friendship ,like any relationship ,has to be twosided.

confused...

...I’m not sure which one of us isn’t keeping their side of the bargain. I would say that I made a tiny effort to get in touch, as much as my fragile ego would allow me. If he wanted to, he could have responded, but he didn’t. =(

Makes me think there maybe something wrong with me, but like my brother said, sometimes its not you, sometimes its just the other person. I cannot think of what to do, and don’t want to follow someone around if they decided to disappear.

Let things be as they say.

P.S. Thanks for responding. :)

Friendship

If someone decides to disappear,it’s none of your fault. It may not have been true friendship in the first place. At the most you can blame yourself for an error in judgment. But correct judgment,i admit ,is not easy and comes in life more with such experiences.

Chitra You Angel!

Lovely to open my mail box today :)
You are a sweet-heart. Am going to renew my efforts to get a package to you, before I get on your list on non-responders!

You made my WEEK!

Yay!

I was just wondering today if the letter reached you! Can’t trust egyptian postal service, even though more often that not it is reliable.

coolies! now you better go buy a sari to go along (haha!). You can do it!

hey friend, have a favor to ask

am in midst of applying to grad schools, and….

am FREAKING out about the ESSAYS!!!!!!!!!!!

if you do IM, i’ll be up LATE tonight, so shoot me an i.m. at ms_yesha (y-a-h-h-o=o)
if you have the time to talk?

as-Salaam aleikum. Kif halich?

And some times we as humans do things for our own reasons, which we may regret later. Or we think we have no choice.
How are your Spanish lessons? Do you know, certainly you must know something of Spain’s Islamic past and present. My mother would say, when she intended or wanted something, “Ojalla’” with a kh sound represented by the j, which is like Arabic “inshallah.” Well, it is the same, I think.

Faithful Spanish speakers often say “Dios quiera” meaning “Allah wants” or “Allah wills it.”

One simple word for today is “felicidad.” It means “happiness.”

I must go to work now. Ya illahee!

Chitra has gotten 7 cheers on this entry.
