bleach the areas you want to be purple till its blonde / light yellow at worst.
then carefully dye your hair black but not touching the blonde you made at the tips or whatever.
wash the black out, dry your hair.
put the purple on the light parts and it will absorb the purple. Manic Panic brand makes the best – all natural but leave it on for a while. the black will sort of not be affected by it.
