Aglio e Olio

Pasta with garlic, olive oil, chili powder and lemon. Yum!

This is a meal found in a book that Josh’s favorite cook book (Cucina Rustica, page 156). It is perfect because it is fast, and because it is tasty. Angela and Maggie helped me again, and we “free-styled it” (as recommended) by adding shrimp and mushrooms. My only blunder was in not chopping up the garlic, but I think it worked anyway.

I wasn’t able to sneak in a secret ingredient this time… they were watching too closely.

Secret ingredient not needed!

This meal was my favorite yet. The garlic was so yummy and the shrimp/mushroom/olive oil combination was perfect. I really, really liked the added spice in the chili powder and I could have lemon on anything (except chocolate) and think it was good. It was also nice because each of us contributed a dish: Erik was in charge of the aglioeolioleoliole, I made the salad and Maggie scooped dessert. Truly a group effort. :) Thank you, Erik. Dining at Chez Benson is quickly becoming one of my favorite things.

Oh yeah. The red stuff. What’s the difference, is one hotter than the other?

By the way, your taking more photos goal is up to number 2 now. Now it’s got to climb the more daunting incline to number 1.

I think chili powder is a mixture of seasonings and peppers, and cayenne is just one pepper. Chili powder definitly has a different taste.

I know, I saw! I am getting all weird and competitive about that goal now. Those Ruby people better back the fuck off.

OOH.

And “save money,” which is also mine, is number 10. I make the best goals!!!

i'm a goal whore too

wait, where are these goals rated? i was just telling chris last night that it’s so exciting to see the goals you originate get adopted by lots of people. she and i think the goals should actually say “originated by [username]” on the individual goal’s page. that would be neato mosquito!

they are ranked here, by popularity: http://www.43things.com/zeitgeist/

that would be cool, or the person who made up the goal could just be the first person on the list always. oh or they could have a gold star by their name!
