DoubleN is working on surviving till year's end

go zorbing
I read 21 months ago

about this in Budget Travel magazine, and would love to try both the water and non-water zorbing. I’m sure I’ll feel just like the gerbils & hamster we used to have when they were in those little clear plastic balls of theirs! Hammy used to terrorize the cat in that thing!

There is no place locally where I could do this (that I’m aware of). So I’ll have to keep my eyes open when I travel.

Chattanooga

It’s my understanding that Chatanooga sports the first Zorbing Cneter in the US – of course if you can get to LA, there are those fairly cheap flights on Air New Zealand that can get you to Christchurch which is where I understand it all began.

Yes

I was surprised about Tennessee having the only U.S. venue. Who would have thought?! :)

Waynesworld Merry Christmas, fellow 43Thingers!

uhuh

I heard that zorbing started in New Zealand. It looks like you don’t want to do this on a full stomach, lol.

Especially moi – I do get motion sick sometimes!

Hellooooooooo!

It’s me! Sorry about the long absence but I’ve been busy and 43Things just sort of fell off the table. I am posting here ‘cos I had no idea what ‘zorbing’ was but thought it was possibly the coolest verb I have ever encountered. I support your zorbing ambition with gusto. Zorb on, my friend, zorb on.

OMG!

So good to hear from you!

Yes, any word beginning with z has a certain zing, I think – that may be half the appeal of zorbing. It just wouldn’t be the same if it were called “gerbing”, which would be more appropriate for an activity that so closely resembles my daughters’ pet gerbils running in their ball!

'z'

The letter ‘z’ is a special one – no doubt about it. And it is something you americans have made your own. I have an American spell-checker and it keeps alerting me to my european habit of spelling with an ’s’ like ‘traumatise’... a ‘z’ is far more dashing. It is also, of course, the international cartoon symbol for sleep – ‘zzzz’ – which is one of my favourite pastimes. In an alphabetical context it is ‘the best wine’. Hurrah for ‘z’!

I think

I would giggle myself into exhaustion if I didn’t get motion sickness. lol It looks like fun!

Ah. yes.

Motion sickness – yuk. 9 years ago I finally made it to a tropical climate in December and had the joy of taking a catamaran in Jamaica – and proceeded to puke my guts out the whole time. It sucks!

So if I ever get to go zorbing, I’ll be fasting for about a day ahead of time! :)

Maybe we need a 43T meetup in TN to go zorbing! :D

DoubleN has gotten 10 cheers on this entry.
