There is nothing better than family that cares for family. My wife and I took care of her mother and father for many years before they passed, but it is knowledge of the improved quality of life we provided for them that helps us live with the fact that they are both gone now. You cannot get the time back and you have to live with yourself afterwards. From experience though, I must tell you that you must be diligent in maintaining a life that is separate from your role as a caregiver. Without such a precaution you run the risk of having a very large hole in your life when she leaves. Also, do not put off things like wills and such because they are difficult to discuss without seeming impertinent or callous. Even in the most loving and Christian families, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles will all completely lose their minds and become unrecognizable when it comes to what they want from an estate. And it won’t matter that you were the one taking care of her, insanity will rule, even if only for a while. God bless you and your mother, my wife and I shall be praying for you both…
