return to weighing 137# by April 30, 2008 (read all 2 entries…)
late winter blues 21 months ago

I am not sure to what extent my late winter upwards weight fluctuations can be attributed to the bleakness of Minnesota winters, but each year I put on 7 to 10 pounds betwixt January and March. I use my treadmill a LOT, but I still overeat, and cold/bleak weather seems to stoke my bad behavior…

So…I am currently at 141#, whereas I was 134# just before Christmas.

Hey, weather ‘bleakness’ is a downer & we all have a little extra chocolate, pasta, yummy bread & jam does it for me every time !!!
But….keep on keeping on, your not being bad ! just comforting yourself when its cold : )

I always find this time of year difficult…I may have to revise my goal to “hold at 140” instead of “drop to 137,” though – springtime just SLAYS me.

...and who said anything about a ‘little’ extra chocolate…? ;)

What works best for me in this category

Losing weight is a tough thing, as get older. It used to be I could put off eating, and that worked well. Drinking vegetable juice for a meal at mid day. Now, skipping dinner works. Eating late in the day is not particularly healthy for me, so …

And I make vegetable and fruit drinks – one of those in place of dinner is OK.

Good luck! Give yourself the chocolate as a taste after two more pounds have found their way away!
