I had a jetta 1983, a golf 1987 and now I own a golf 1994. Loved all of them. German cars are so enjoyable. No fluff, no gadgets, drives great, decent performance enough not to get laughed at (lol), and really hard to kill. In fact, with all my previous cars and my current one which is quite old, I’ve never had problems with the motor. The problem is that everything else eventually falls appart: shocks, rust, doors that don’t work in cold (lol, gotta love that one, especially stuck outside the car at minus 30 trying to get in freezing to death ;P), radio / speakers, etc etc. If you know a bit of mechanics tho all of that aint a problem, but I don’t… But the car still runs and looks like it doesnt want to give up, go VW!!
Anyhow, the new TDI seems impressive, but then again the price tag is a bit too. I’m not looking seriously into that yet so I’m just speaking as a long time VW owner who have always been satisfied with their cars. Hopefully next one will be a Porsche (haha, I wish).
