pay off my credit cards (read all 23 entries…)
just got a huge expense check 7 months ago

haven’t decided whether I want to put it in savings or pay off most of the card with it.

Pay off the card if it has a higher interest rate than your savings (most do) – you’ll be better off quicker this way paying lower interest payments.
