I just moved to Denton, about 45 miles north of Dallas, a week or so ago from southern Oregon. I had reasons to pick this area (it’s where my girlfriend lives) over Austin, but if I didn’t, I would have probably chosen the Austin area over D/FW. I’m sure you’re going to have other things to keep in mind beside just the physical environment and such, but to me, the Austin area just reminded me a lot more of home than this area does. I know that obviously southern Oregon isn’t quite the same as Colorado, but the two areas do remind me a lot of one another, so I’d think the change would be somewhat similar for you moving from Colorado to here.
