i have been a freelance sign language interpreter for over 8 years now and i absolutely love it!! in my profession being my own boss makes me much more money than working for other entities, however i do use several agencies to find a lot of my work; and paying out of pocket >$400 per month for health insurance is costly, but it is still financially and independantly worth it.
