I think I’ve solved my problem on this goal. The problem was that when I come home with the kids there is always getting them out of the car, their bags, my bags, school artwork, snack garbage. It’s too much to carry in one go. I’m still carrying my daugter in from the car just to get her there without dawdling. In all the chaos, I always just throw up my hands in surrender and just try to get the kids up the stairs and settled.

So now I’ve started going out there in the morning and giving the car a quick tidy before we go to daycare. It’s working quite nicely. And it’s nice to not be constantly in the presence of a mess that makes me ashamed.
