I’m a big fan of fantasy novels of every variety, but I found Lord of the Rings very tedious. There’s a good story buried in there somewhere, but only really enough plot to fill a volume about a quarter of the size. The rest of it is endless tedious descriptions and wandering around. Over-rated.
