There is a Lonely Planet travel guide to Antarctica but it doesn’t include that much travel information and contains more environmental and historical data, which is interesting but not as useful. I get the sense that the thorntree forum (http://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/index.jspa) will have a lot of insights from fellow travelers, but I have yet to check it out.
